Visitors information

Our car park is free of charge and is close to all hospital services. Reception staff will arrange taxi if required.

The Blackburn train station the nearest train station, located approximately 2.6 kilometres - a six minute drive from the hospital.

Bus services (routes No. 765 and No. 703) operate along Blackburn and Canterbury Rds.

Smoking

Bellbird Private Hospital is smoke free.

If you would like further assistance in how to stop smoking contact your GP, treating specialist or call Quit Line on 13 78 48.

Alcohol

Visitors or patients are not permitted to bring alcohol into the hospital. Alcohol can have significant adverse effects when combined with medications.

Food

A patient’s diet whilst they are in hospital is related to their clinical condition and/or their stage of recovery, it is aimed to aid their path to a full recovery.

For this reason any food brought by visitors should only be consumed in consultation with nursing staff.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO VISITING HOURS AT BELLBIRD

The safety of our patients, staff and doctors is our highest priority.

Please note that visitors to our hospital from restricted postcodes are discouraged from attending our hospital unless absolutely necessary for care giving, and for compassionate reasons. The number of visitors, and the duration of their stay will be minimised as per our visitor policy.

Visitors are being temperature screened on arrival and at the commencement of each shift.

If you are exhibiting symptoms, please call the (Covid-19) Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398.

In response to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we now require:

1. PATIENTS to have no more than ONE nominated visitor from immediate family. This VISITOR must not have travelled overseas in the last 14 days, or be unwell. For others, we suggest they instead call their loved one via the hospital switchboard.

2. CONTRACTORS to reconsider the need to visit, unless you are providing an essential service.

The nursing staff will provide specific instructions for visiting these patients.
