COVID-19 Visitor Update: Effective 5 May 2022

Bellbird Private Hospital visiting conditions:

  • Visiting hours: 2.30pm to 8.00pm
  • A maximum of 2 visitors are permitted per patient, per day, during visiting hours
  • All visitors must be double vaccinated, as a minimum

Visitors are able to attend outside the above-mentioned visiting hours only if they are:

  • The parents, guardians or carers for a patient under the age of 18
  • Providing end-of-life support

Requirements for masks remain in place.

We continue to encourage visitors to telephone patients via the hospital switchboard or the patient’s direct line outside of the visiting hours. Our friendly staff will support patients who need help using a device to keep in touch with family and friends.

Reception Hours

8.00am to 6.00pm from Monday to Friday

Reception staff can be reached on extension 2333 during these hours.

Consulting Suites Reception Hours

8.00am to 6.00pm from Monday to Friday

Closed on weekends and public holidays.

Our car park is free of charge and is close to all hospital services. Reception staff will arrange taxi if required.

The Blackburn train station the nearest train station, located approximately 2.6 kilometres - a six minute drive from the hospital.

Bus services (routes No. 765 and No. 703) operate along Blackburn and Canterbury Rds.

Smoking

Bellbird Private Hospital is smoke free.

If you would like further assistance in how to stop smoking contact your GP, treating specialist or call Quit Line on 13 78 48.

Alcohol

Visitors or patients are not permitted to bring alcohol into the hospital. Alcohol can have significant adverse effects when combined with medications.

Food

A patient’s diet whilst they are in hospital is related to their clinical condition and/or their stage of recovery, it is aimed to aid their path to a full recovery.

For this reason any food brought by visitors should only be consumed in consultation with nursing staff.
