The Bellbird, Ringwood, and Knox Private Hospitals and The Victorian Rehabilitation Centre invites General Practitioners to attend this live online and interactive meeting presented by Dr Mehrnoosh Kiumarsi and Dr Damien Tharmaratnam.

Activity ID 211104

As the Australian population ages, there is a growing need for GPs to assist in managing the healthcare needs of their ageing patients. By presenting the latest data and case studies, experienced Geriatricians aim to educate GPs on how to identify signs & symptoms and management options for Frailty and Functional Decline along with identifying Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD) in older Australians.

In the current situation, with the pandemic, concerns affecting the elderly population cannot be overshadowed.

Learning Outcomes:

Through this activity, GP's will be able to:

  1. Discuss the implementation of non-pharmacological and pharmacological strategies for BPSD management;
  2. Identify reversible factors contributing to behaviours of concern;
  3. Discuss the importance of communication with families.

Healthscope is a CPD education provider under the RACGP CPD Program.

GPs are invited to direct any pre-meeting questions for the presenters to Kerry Lannu, Healthscope BDM (kerry.lannu@healthscope.com.au).
